Chime is a financial technology company that partners with FDIC-insured banks to provide fee-free, member-first mobile banking services, including checking and savings accounts, aiming to make financial services helpful and accessible.


The Challenge

How We Did It

Built a platform-native content engine for TikTok and Instagram that led with entertainment and cultural relevance, weaving financial messaging in naturally rather than forcing product-first narratives.

Anchored the content calendar around BFCM, the holidays, and the New Year, turning high-spend cultural moments into opportunities for Chime to show up as the voice of financial clarity and smart spending.

Transformed TikTok from a repost channel into a native creator platform, introducing street interviews, reactive content, and trend-driven formats that built authentic audience trust and drove outsized engagement.

Executed a systematic content roadmap across Credit, Online Banking, and Loans, publishing 35+ optimizations in Q1 targeting high-volume keywords and supporting Chime’s Instant Loans product launch.

Built Chime’s first-ever LLM visibility framework,  including monthly audits across ChatGPT and Gemini, an Earned Source Calendar targeting NerdWallet and Bankrate, and enabling AI bot crawling that was previously blocked.

Established a unified reporting infrastructure across GA4, Evertune, and GSC, including a custom LLM traffic attribution model that made enrollments and sessions from AI sources visible for the first time.


Results

Chime’s growth strategy spanned both search and social, building visibility and trust across every surface where their audience shows up. 

On the search side, Chime’s SEO and AEO strategy significantly increased visibility across both traditional search and AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini. Through technical SEO, content optimization, and AI visibility initiatives, Chime improved rankings for high-intent financial queries, increased Gemini mentions by 25% QoQ, and drove 60% growth in LLM sessions, 93% enrollment lift from LLM traffic, and 2.7M organic clicks.

On the organic social side, Chime’s strategy focused on platform-native, culturally relevant content designed to drive engagement and audience trust. By combining reactive content, creator-led storytelling, and seasonal tentpole moments, the strategy built the kind of brand authority and cultural relevance that compounds beyond social, supporting Chime’s growing presence in AI-generated recommendations. The strategy drove a 150% growth in views, 126% growth in engagements, and 163% growth in shares QoQ.
